The work to convert the face is done by hand and is a very skilled and labour intensive task, If you have a gauge you want converted please visit the construction page

37 Gallon converted Spitfire fuel gauge (pg6 ins)

This gauge has been professionally converted from a 35 gallon fuel gauge. The face has been re-mastered to this perfect copy. You can instantly compare it to the original above. The donor gauge is a period original 35 gallon version and so its calibration is very close to the 37 gallon. Remember a Merlin will consume a gallon of fuel a minute on tick over.
