Original Spitfire Door panel (pg1 air)

This is
an original door panel from a Castle Bromwich constructed
Spitfire which is seen by the quality inspectors stamp VA
for Vickers Armstrong and CB for Castle Bromwich. It is
superb condition with no corrosion, it appears to be
straight and should be flyable subject to the required
checks. The original hinge is still in place.

Click the
above picture to enlarge
The Supermarine drawings
show this to be a door allowing access to the accumulator
on the starboard side of the Spitfire. Pieces like this which are original
straight and free from corrosion do not turn up very often,
it is a large recognisable original piece of Spitfire
and will only continue to increase in value well above any
other currently available safe investment. The price
of a flying Spitfire has increased to £2,500,000 plus
in 2011 and each time one appears on
the market the price increases. Available serviceable parts
have followed this trend, and although most of us will never
own an original Spitfire this is an opportunity to own a
very desirable piece and a great investment.

Externally the Mk XVIII was
very similar to late production MK XIV. It had the bubble
canopy and cut back fuselage. It was armed with the “e”
wing, with two 20mm cannon and two .50in machine guns, or
four 20mm cannon. 300 were produced, 200 of which were FR
(Fighter Reconnaissance) aircraft, which sacrificed some
fuel capacity to carry two F.24 vertical cameras and one
F.24 oblique camera. It used either a 2,035 hp Griffon 65 or
a 2,340 hp Griffon 67. The Mk XVIII saw service after the
Second World War, in Malaya and in Palestine.

Mk XVII Spitfire tail fairing and MOD plate(pg1 air)
A piece
of Spitfire history 100% original piece from a Mk XVIII I was
told by the person I bought this from that it was the only
piece on the aircraft that gave any clue to its original
identity having a serial number HS669 painted inside the
fairing ,which equates to Spitfire MK XVIII serial number TP
367. The sale also includes a mod plate from the same
aircraft.

He we
have a dimensional plan for the Hawker Hurricane main
instrument panel. IT is NOT 1;1 scale but has all the
dimensions you need to built the full size article. Ata
guess I would say the plan is 1/2 scale. Hurricanes are one
of the hardest aircraft to get drawings and its taken allot
of searching to obtain this. You will receive good quality
readable copy.

Hurricane Radiator Cowling (pg1 air)
Feast your eyes
a quite unique and superbly rare item. The Radiator cowling
as fitted to Hurricanes, an original item with its flap
still attached. As these Cowlings are slung low under the
aircraft they are vulnerable and very rarely survive any
belly landing or undercarriage failure completely destroys
them. This one is in good original static condition.

You can see the radiator
cowling clearly on the underside of the Hurricane above.

Hurricane centre section (pg1 air)

Available as a
result of the break up of our Hurricane project is a
complete centre section including frame cowlings and
undercarriage attachments
new made from
steel for a static Hurricane project.
It is extremely strong and was made to cope with a running
Merlin. This piece is the heart of the Hurricane, the
original, seen under is an extremely complicated piece made
from multi sided tubing that has to be made specially
manufactured at huge cost. This is a unique piece for any
Static Hurricane project and something which took well over
100 hours to construct using original drawings. The
complicated original construction was replaced with tubular
and box section steel and is very close in appearance to the
original. The dimensions are as original. The cowlings shown
are included. This will have to be collected or we can
deliver for a cost of £1 per mile in the UK. To ship
oversees will be expensive and I would suggest you get a
shipping quote before purchase. I would estimate its weight
at around 250 to 350 Kgs.

the text is not two clear but its the best we can do for the

 |
Hotspur Glider Leading edge (pg 1air)
This was quite an incredible
find. Its a new old stock of a Hotspur glider leading edge.
It comes complete in its original box with the airframe ID
number 26Ed which is the Airministry reference for the
Hotspur.

The Hotspur glider was
small, seating only 8 troop seats; the more famous Horsa was
much bigger. While the Hotspur Mk 1 was intended for combat
use, its performance with a full load was not adequate for
operational use, and subsequently all Hotspurs were used for
training duties only.
The Hotspur Mk I had a hinged upper
fuselage section, designed to allow the rapid exit of the
onboard troops. The Hotspur Mk II had its wings clipped by
16 ft (4.88 m) and a larger cockpit canopy, making it more
suitable for training flights. Cabin doors replaced the
hinged fuselage section. The Hotspur Mk III had completely
duplicated flying controls, reflecting its use as a training
version. |

? (pg1 air) I was
reliably informed that this is a window from a Mosquito. It

having spoken to several mosquito experts they confirm its
not from a standard Mosquito.

Vickers Wellington tail fairing (pg1 air)
This a substantial piece
of the famous Vickers Wellington design by the iconic
British engineer Barnes Wallis responsible for the
Dambusting bouncing Bomb.
This piece came from the
Wellington that crashed at Great Whernside.
Wellington
DV718 on Riggs Moor, Great Whernside.
On the night of 2nd/3rd September 1942 the crew of
this Wellington was tasked with a night cross-country
training exercise along with other aircraft from the same
training unit. They took off and flew north but bad weather
was effecting the Yorkshire Dales area on this night and
this aircraft was to fly into it. The crew undoubtedly were
having trouble with visibility flying through heavy rain and
in the low cloud they became lost. The aircraft then
descended over high ground, presumably so the crew could try
and ascertain their position. The aircraft struck the ground
between Nidderdale and Wharfedale on an area of high ground
known as Blake Hill, on Riggs Moor, to the west of
Kettlewell. The large fire after the impact destroyed much
of the fuselage section but one airman managed to escape and
get clear. He was found the next day and taken to Harrogate
General Hospital and after treatment at a hospital in
Preston he made a recovery. His four crew mates were not so
lucky, they were all killed.
This accident is one of a few in the Yorkshire Dales
which has been covered in a number of books in the last few
years, I do not plan on copying these works.
