Mae West life preserver 1945 (pg2 Pilot)
A very rare Mae west as worn by
aircrew. This is in very good complete condition although
the rubber is a little stiff after 60 years. It still has
its inflators which look like they take those little soda
stream cartridges. I haven't tried to inflate it. This is a
US version . A great item for display or battle enactment.
Seen under with the rest of the aircrew equipment.

Mae West life preserver 2 (pg2 Pilot)

Unknown Mae west type life preserver in good used
condition. I suspect this to be post war. Makes a great
substitute for reanactors.

The four-engine Halifax was an important bomber which played
a major role in the Bomber Offensive, though it was never as
successful as the Lancaster. The Halifax was repeatedly
updated to try and improve handling problems and poor engine
performance which made it more vulnerable to flak and
fighters and thus caused an increased loss rate. Later
versions were much improved |
Halifax Radio Operators chair (pg2 Pilot eq)

Thank
you to Cees Broere for
this updated information originally advertised as Lancaster,
here we have a superb 100%
original Radio operator / Flight Engineers chair from a
Halifax. It is in
excellent condition and is extremely light. It seems to be
made of magnesium alloy. We have two of these seats
available and the second is in the same condition as the
first example shown.

Battle of France Irvin Flying leggings (pg2 pilot)

This is a pair of stunning
leather sheepskin flying trousers/leggings. The zips are
original and in great condition they both function
perfectly. There are no tears or damage other than slight
wear. They are a good size at 38 and incredibly rare in this
condition. This flying kit was in short supply and so its
inconceivable that they were not used in action. With
a 1939
date almost certainly in action through the Battle of
Britain. An amazing collectable still perfectly functional
and in good enough condition still to be worn.

Pilots harness (pg2 pilot)
Superb condition Sutton harness. This is
not parachute harness but kept the pilot in his seat. Some
pilots bailed out without their parachutes because the locks
were similar. Sdr Ldr Glaser DFC Battle of Britain Pilot
told me he never undid his parachute before he climbed down
from the aircraft so it became a habit to only undo one
strap. Very rare in any condition this harness is complete
and ready to fit with original early strap lock.

Seat Harness recoil unit (pg2 pilot equ)

This attaches to the seat
belt harness shown in the above page, it allows the harness
to extend much like a modern car seat belt. This unit was
fitted to many wartime fighters including the Spitfire, the
lever shown left is placed on the RHS of the Spitfire
cockpit. The unit is complete and in working order.
